Where did you grow up? Augusta, Georgia. I love and miss it a lot!

What is your favorite food? Watermelon! I could eat it any day of the year.

What is your least favorite food? Asparagus.

What is something unique or surprising about you? I teach English in China during the summers. I spend 3 weeks teaching 1st graders English vocabulary and beginning reading strategies.

What is your favorite subject to teach? I really love math. I like teaching math because there are lots of patterns with numbers and it’s cool to see when a student finds the pattern or understands a hard concept.

Who was your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher was a teacher I had in high school, Mrs.McGough. She taught a child development class and I was able to work in a preschool with her. I learned a lot about early childhood development from her.

Why did you choose to be a teacher? I wanted to make a difference in the current life of a child but also make a life-long impact. Being a teacher is an amazing opportunity because I get to spend time each day with amazing kiddos and help prepare them for situations that they will have in academic and non-academic settings.

What would you like your students to remember this year? This year, I want my kids to remember to choose to be kind!
