We are excited to welcome new staff to our awesome team at Westridge this year! We wanted to share a little bit about them to help our Westridge community get to know them better.
Kindergarten: Mrs. McMahan
“Hello! I am Mrs. McMahan. I am a native of Provo and love living here! I have also lived in Idaho, Michigan and Ohio. I have three awesome children. I love the mountains, tennis, ping-pong, hiking, musicals, reading, and being with my family. The next place I would like to travel is Hawaii! I am looking forward to a great year ahead and can’t wait to see all of you wonderful Wildcats!”
Second grade: Mr. Lee
“My name is Mr. Lee. This will be my 8th year teaching. I love camping, disc golfing, bowling and eating cookies. I’ve lived in Utah, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas. I can’t wait to get started here at Westridge.”
Third Grade: Mrs. Cardwell
“My name is Katie Cardwell! I have been married for two years to my husband, Collin. We were married skydiving during pandemic! I am from Mesa, Arizona and grew up with four older brothers. I enjoy playing the piano, violin, and traveling. I am so excited to teach third grade this year!”
Third Grade: Miss Hales
“Hi Wildcats and friends! My name is Miss Hales! Some of my favorite things include musical theatre, video games, hiking, dancing, and traveling. I’ve been to 34 of the 50 states and I’m working on getting the last 16. I am so excited to be part of the Westridge family and to have the best year ever!!”
School Psychologist: Mrs. Schaeffer
“My name is Mrs. Schaeffer. I am a school psychologist intern and this is my first year working in the schools! I love reading, art, musicals and cats. I am currently finishing up my last year of BYU’s school psychology program and can’t wait to graduate in April. I am so excited to be at Westridge this year!”
Speech-Language Pathologist: Ms. Emery
“Hi Wildcats! My name is Ms. Emery and I am the new Speech-Language Pathologist here at Westridge. Here are a few fun facts about me. -I went to BYU for my undergrad and the U of U for my masters. I am a huge Utah Ute and BYU Cougar fan! – I absolutely LOVE chocolate chip cookies -I have an identical twin sister – I am getting married in September! I can’t wait to get to know you all!”

“¡Hola! Soy la señora McMahan. ¡Soy nativa de Provo y me encanta vivir aquí! También he vivido en Idaho, Michigan y Ohio. Tengo res hijos increíbles.
