Westridge Elementary School

Dear Families of Westridge,

The summer is over, and a brand new school year has begun!  I hope you enjoyed your summer and are excited to start the new school year with us!

The 2019-2020 school year was definitely a year to remember.  I want to thank you for being so flexible, patient and encouraging as we transitioned from brick-and-mortar school to online school.  The 2020-2021 school year will continue to be a year of transition as we start a combination of brick-and-mortar school AND online school. Through all of this transition, our goal is to ensure our student’s and faculty’s health and safety while helping our students excel emotionally, socially, and academically.  Thank you in advance for your continued flexibility, patience, encouragement, and support as we continue to navigate this school year.

As we have learned since March 2020, things can change at a moment’s notice (but as of today), here is some information to help with planning for the new school year.

Students will attend on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, depending on their last name.  School will be dismissed Monday through Thursday at 1:40 pm.  Students will not attend school on Friday’s.  They will be at home participating in online learning activities that have been assigned by their teacher.

As a reminder, the first bell rings at 8:35 am, and classes begin at 8:40 am.  School breakfast is served at 8:10 am. Due to CoVid-19 and social distancing issues, we ask that you do not drop your children off before 8:25 am unless they will be eating breakfast.  Students will need to meet their class on the north side of the building every morning, instead of entering through the front doors to ensure social distancing in the hallways.

Governor Herbert has mandated face coverings for all students, parents, and faculty while in the building.  The district will provide one face mask and lanyard for every student, but your child is welcome to wear an approved face coving of their choice.  The PTO will also be selling a cute Westridge Wildcat face mask.

If you think you may qualify for free or reduced lunch, go to www.schoollunchapp.com and complete the online application. If you are not sure you will be eligible, apply anyway; you might save yourself some money.

We are incredibly excited to have students in the building, and we are looking forward to a fantastic school year!!
