Hello Westridge Parents,

We are still in need of Instructional Assistants for this school year.  The hours are Monday -Thursday from approximately 8:15am-3:45pm and 8:15am-1:45pm on Friday.  We are in need of a kindergarten assistant, two assistants to help students with their IEP goals, and assistants to help with math remediation and extension for 1st – 6th-grade students.  Please help spread the word to your family, neighbors, and friends. You can apply for these positions online.

Tomorrow is the PTO Carnival from 5:00-7:00pm.  Admission is $2 per student for unlimited games.  Food will be available for purchase:  Pizza – $1.50, Soda – $1.00, Cotton Candy -$2.00.  Donations will be accepted for classroom teacher grants.  The money raised will go towards field trips, STEM/Science equipment, books, and other supplies and class activities.  See the PTO Information section below for more details.  Please stop by and support our amazing PTO.

Our social worker is offering the 10-session Wellness Group again this year.  If you would like for your child to participate in this group, please complete this google form then a permission slip will be sent home with your child.  If you have any questions about the group or other social/emotional supports available at Westridge, please contact Callie Gallacher at calliega@provo.edu.

Connecting Parents to Westridge (information from Westridge’s PTO)

We are so excited to see you all at the school carnival tomorrow (Sep 26th) from 5 to 7 pm.  We are so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to sign up to help with the carnival.  However, we are still 15 volunteers short. Shifts are only an hour. So you can enjoy the carnival with your kids before or after your shift. Most positions are very simple, and kids can be included in the service. Sadly if we do not get more volunteers, you can expect long lines, and we ask for your patience. We want to make this a great experience for everyone. Please consider volunteering to help us do so.

Along with Carnival next week, we have vision screenings on Wednesday the 28th. A huge shout out to everyone who has volunteered for that. We do still have 2 spots available.

Also, make sure you are saving all your soft household donations. We will have a Uhaul at the school all day on Oct 6th to collect them for our clothing fundraiser. Remind your kiddos if they have a birthday this month to check the bulletin board in the east hall for their name. They can then take that to the office for a special birthday treat. If you are new to the school and your child has yet to receive a Westridge t-shirt please reach out to us via email with a way they have been respectful, responsible, or safe, and we will make sure they get one.
