Hello Westridge Parents! 

Our Wildcats Celebrate the Arts Night is this Thursday, March 20th, from 6:00 to 7:00pm (see flyer below).  You can view our student art through a Gallery Stroll around the building, enjoy Story Telling in the library, and listen to Musical Performances in the gym.  Students who attend with their families will be given a small art kit.  Please do not send your children alone; this is a family activity.  The musical performance schedule is as follows:  

• 6:10pm – Choir
• 6:20pm – Ist-grade students
• 6:30pm – 4th-grade students
• 6:40pm – Band
• 6:50pm – Orchestra

Last week, we sent out information regarding concerns about parking in the crosswalk area in front of the building.  Another area of concern is the entrance into the school from 1460 North.  People are parking by the marquee in the red curb area on the southeast side of the building.  This is causing congestion and is making it difficult for other drivers to enter the pick-up area.  Please avoid parking in this area.  If you are waiting in line, and the person in front of you leaves, please pull forward and take their spot.  We appreciate your help in keeping our students safe!

If your child needs to miss school, please contact the office.  All absences must be excused to avoid district attendance intervention.  Intervention begins after the first five unexcused absences.  District intervention can include attendance letters, Family Advocate/Social Worker home visits, resolution conferences, district mediation, and referral to DCFS or the County Attorney’s Office.  You can avoid these district interventions by contacting us each time your child is absent.
