Meet Mr. J

Hi Westridgites!  I’m Mr. Jackman. (Mr. “J”) I grew up in Ohio and went to college at Ohio Northern and BYU. I earned a Master’s Degree from BYU in Education Administration; but, l learned that teaching is awesome!  This will be my 42nd year of teaching at Westridge.  I love my family , teaching and sports In our 6th grade classroom you will have interactions with math through CMI, develop personal informational and argumentative writing skills, learn about different countries and discover engineering while focusing on Moon Phases, Energy, The Solar System, and Ecosystems . Westridge Elementary is a STEM school, when you enter 6th grade you will be immersed in a fully integrated curriculum.  We will follow the Utah Core Standards, and have a ton of material to cover. There are so many exciting adventures awaiting, and so little time! Get ready for hands on exploration, and let’s jump in! I  Let’s have a great year
