What is something unique or surprising about you? I’m allergic to poppy seeds and canola oil

What is your favorite subject to teach? Language arts/ Reading

Who was your favorite teacher and why? My third grade teacher, Mrs. Boyd. She was a wonderful influence and helped me have a love of learning.

Why did you choose to be a teacher? I love watching students have the “lightbulb” moment! I’ve been a tutor since sixth grade, so this is something I’ve always done. I wanted to grow up to become like my third grade teacher who made coming to school the highlight of my day.

What would you like your students to remember this year? I want them to remember how much I believe in them and their progress. They are all going to accomplish hard things, and there are no limits to what they can learn. I also want them to remember how much fun we have reading!
