Provo City School District

Westridge Elementary School

Hello Westridge Parents!

This year our 4th-6th Grade students will be participating in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Fridays.  For an hour each Friday the students will have the opportunity to learn about Coding, Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, run space missions with our InfiniD Space Lab, and participate in enhanced STEAM and Art lessons.  We are excited about our STEAM Fridays and ask that you talk to your children about what they are experiencing in class each Friday.

We are also excited abut our Wildcat Spirit Days, which will be held the first Friday of each month (see attached schedule).  Along with having a “dress up day” we will have an activity at lunch recess.  This past Friday, the students were able to exercise, dance, and workout with Miss Morgan, a High Fitness Instructor.  It was a lot of fun!  Check out Instagram and Facebook for our video!

Just a reminder that school lunch is no longer free for all students.  You may use the following website to access lunch menus and pay for lunch online with the district’s child nutrition page.  If you think you may qualify for free or reduced meals, go to my school apps and complete the online application.  If your child is bringing a meal from home, please ensure it is easy to open and does not need to be heated.

Thanks for sharing your children with us!

Go Wildcats!

Let’s let the teachers know we are grateful for their hard work and time- and that they matter!  Pick the week and any day that week that works best for you! Hopefully, we can support the teachers each week as they help our children learn and grow! This is a very easy way to help the faculty and staff to know they are appreciated and work with your schedule! You can bring treats M-F. Try to have them there by 10:30 AM, so they are available during the lunch breaks!

Prepare & send a special treat or refreshment to the Westridge faculty who visit the faculty room! Surprise them with something fun to eat or drink. As parents, we’d like to say thank you and boost the morale of our teachers! Sign up alone or with a friend to bring in fruits and veggies (wellness), cupcakes, cookies, appetizer-type food, special drink, etc. Whatever you specialize in! You can make it or buy something! Share your talents and your means.

Feel free to reach out with any questions! Megan Jenkins @ megalexandria@gmail.com https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0444AFA82BAAFF2-faculty We would appreciate it if you would take 5 mins and fill out our PTO survey.  It will help us to know what is important to you and how we, as a PTO, can best support you and your students this school year.  We will be doing a drawing for some gift cards for those who fill it out.
